Spinone Crosses

Is there any good reason to cross our wonderful breed, the Spinone?  The answer must be a resounding NO.

An ancient HPR with so much history, highly valued in its country of Origin reduced to the latest fashion accessory by crossing it with whatever breed you have to hand, then adding to the insult by thinking up a ridiculous name and selling these unregistered pups for rather a lot of money.  I find it sad for the breed.

Reporting health conditions

Information regarding your dogs health is welcomed from any spinone owner. You do not have to be a Club member to report a health matter.

With the AHT currently researching epilepsy, we would particularly appreciate details from any owner, both from the UK and abroad, who has experienced this.

If your Spinone has suffered from a health problem, it would be very helpful if you could complete our ‘Report Health’ google form which can be found by clicking on the link.

If you are interested in getting an older dog we urge you to do your research. These dogs are not being sold without a reason.

Get Plastered

One afternoon in the summer ………………..

Mum goes out, she tells us she won’t be long and to be good.  Usually we are and just sleep until she comes back.  But today we wanted to play so looked around the room to see what we could find.

The builders have been here a while and leave their stuff stacked neatly in the corner.  Nothing of interest here – just some empty buckets, a ladder, an empty mug on the windowsill.

Boring !!

Then we spotted a paper sack – like the ones our dog food comes in – but it didn’t smell like dog food.  Better have a look though just in case.

Leave minced beef to defrost in the sink.

Leave puppy with access to kitchen and go out.
